MINUTES:  Approved with minor correction.

VICE-CHAIR/MEETING LIST  -Any additions or changes to meetings contact the new Vice Chair of COLA, Alane, 504-281-7147 or
a.haik@pension-services.com.  The Thursday night New Orleans  group is not registered on the Region 8 website. It was suggested that they may have not selected to link to the site when registered at World Service. Ann S. reported that people are still trying to go to the Slidell meeting that is closed. She thinks it may still be on an old meeting list that is being distributed.

TREASURER  REPORT – Treasury has balance of 1389.42.  Report accepted. This is the balance before the convention/assembly profits are recorded.

PUBLIC INFO-public information is Cheryl P.  Copies of the PSAs are needed to distribute to media.

COLA WEB SITE  www.oa-neworleans.com  Retreat flyer and Amy's assembly report to be added. Ann suggested seeking web servant who would be willing to look into the free website from World Service Office. Mimi agreed to look into it.

LITERATURE anyone can order through www.oa.org-  Order for convention=$629.84. Ann sold $562.10 in literature and other items. Sold out of a lot, especially AA because speakers were using AA Big Book material.

FUND RAISING: Janice suggested selling jewelry donations at our events. It was a hit at the boutique.

2010  November 5, 6 & 7, St. Mary of the Pines-  Ann S. presented registration flyer. Private rooms are full.
2010 November 5,6,7th Region 8 Recovery Convention and Business Assembly in  Orlando, Fl- sending one representative to assembly.
2010  November 20th I.D.E.A. Day sponsored by North Shore at St. Timothy in Mandeville
2011 AUGUST 26-28TH 34 Year Houma Birthday Retreat.

NEW BUSINESS:
Janice S. won a free Lifetime subscription for one year.
The March 2011 Region 8 Business Assembly & Recovery Convention will be in Baton Rouge, LA and the July 2011 will be in Nashville, TN.
Mimi resigned as 2nd Region 8 representative. Angela will take her place.



UNFINISHEDS BUSINESS-
2010 July 9-11 Region 8 Recovery Convention and Business Assembly in New Orleans, LA
Amy read her report from the Business Assembly. Diane gave an unofficial report on the conference and congratulated all. We are waiting for the final financial report, but it seems we made some profit from hosting the event. Mimi reported on the evaluations. They were mostly positive. The main complaints were the banquet food and not having refreshments in the hospitality suite. The main complaint from the business assembly was that the tables were too close together. Dianne will e-mail Amy a report on the event by September 15th. She will get reports from committee chairs.

2010  November 5, 6 & 7, St. Mary of the Pines
Ann reported $620 in registrations. She will put the registration flyer on the website, Region 8 and World Service datebook, as well as send to e-mail list. Janice will tell the speaker that it is time to book her flight.
