There are many service opportunities available in OA at the group and intergroup level.
Strengthen your recovery and help carry the OA message to those who still suffer.

Group level service opportunities include:
• Group Secretary- receive minutes from the intergroup meeting and keep the group informed of any upcoming OA events
• Group Treasurer- collect the group’s 7th Tradition funds, make sure group’s meeting space rent is paid, send contributions to the intergroup
• Intergroup Representative- attend monthly intergroup meetings (3rd Saturday of each month) and bring back information to your groups
• Literature Chair- maintain a supply of OA literature for sale at the meeting
• Newcomer Welcoming- speak with newcomers after the meeting; call/ email newcomers during the week to welcome them and answer any questions they may have about OA
• Meeting Leader

Intergroup service opportunities include:
• Officers**
o Intergroup Chair- responsible for leading the monthly intergroup meeting,  delegating any necessary tasks to other officers and committee/ event chairs
o Intergroup Vice Chair- responsible for maintaining the meeting list and group contact information with World Service, leading intergroup meeting in chair’s absence
o Intergroup Treasurer- responsible for maintaining intergroup finances, forwarding group contributions to Region and World Service, making sure intergroup expenses are paid
o Intergroup Secretary- responsible for preparing and distributing minutes from the monthly intergroup meetings to all intergroup meeting attendees and group secretaries

**Intergroup Chair and Treasurer are nominated and elected in odd years; Vice Chair and Secretary are nominated and elected in even years.  All officer positions are for a two-year term.

• Other intergroup service opportunities:
o Hotline Contact- at least one person each from Greater New Orleans, Houma area, and the Northshore.   Prospective newcomers and visiting OA’s call for information on meetings and OA in general.
o Public Information Chair- helps carry the message to the community through media announcements and participation in conventions (staffing an exhibit booth/ table, speaking at an event)
o Sunshine Card/ “We Miss You” Chair- sends cards to members in need of Sunshine or who have stopped coming to meetings
o Designated Downloader- downloads and prints OA information for members who do not have internet access
o Retreat/ Event Chair-  helps plan upcoming retreats/ events, recruits committee members to assist in necessary tasks for the event
• Retreat/ Event Committee Member- helps chair in planning and staffing the event

Rotation of Service is a vital aspect of OA’s Twelve Traditions
